What's Happening in Mayotte: Travel & Tourism

Sorry, but for now we don't know about any upcoming events.
Mayotte Travel and Tourism Overview

Mayotte is the most southern island of the four Comoros Islands. It is also the only island that refused independence and is still under French rule.

Mayotte is enclosed by a natural coral reef which forms the largest natural lagoon in the world. With such unique natural attributes, one can expect to experience exotic marine life at the foot of the volcanic crests, while breathtaking waterfalls hide in the lush forestry.

The majority of inhabitants of Mayotte are traditional Muslims. Islamic law and customs are strongly evident throughout the island. Visitors should take this into consideration, especially in respect of their dress code.

Although Mayotte is a French governed island, very few people can actually speak or understand French.

When to visit Mayotte: Its Climate

Mayotte enjoys a typical marine tropical climate; from November to April it is hot and humid with high rainfall, and the rest of the year is dry with a cooler climate and average day temperatures of 24ºC (45.2ºF).
